The Cabarrus Tech Experience
The Cabarrus Tech Experience
More Than a School. A Community.
Being a Cobra means being involved!
Whether your interests include Student Government, Robotics, Esports, National Honor Society, Performing Arts, Intramurals, service clubs, academic competitions, or something entirely new, there's a place for everyone to belong.
Because at Cabarrus Tech, success isn't just measured by what you accomplish—it's also measured by the relationships you build and the experiences you have along the way.

Social Events
From game nights and dances to prom, students create unforgettable memories by planning and enjoying social events throughout the year. Get involved, have fun, and make lasting friendships.

Intramurals
Every year, Cabarrus Tech students compete alongside other early colleges in exciting intramural tournaments. From flag football and basketball to soccer, volleyball, and kickball, there's a team—and a place—for everyone.

Clubs
At Cabarrus Tech, clubs are more than extracurricular activities—they're an essential part of our school culture. Every student joins a club, giving them opportunities to lead, serve, perform, compete, and help create the traditions that make our school unique. Our Clubs include:
| Student Government | Yearbook | Science Club |
| Art Club | Athletic Club | eSports |
| Model United Nations | Service Club | Cybersecurity |
| Theater Club | Multicultural Club | Girls Who Code |
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Some of our most valuable learning happens beyond the walls of the classroom. Throughout the year, students participate in local Field Experiences that connect learning to the real world while building friendships and creating lasting memories.

Day Experiences
Our day experiences include visits to colleges and universities to explore future opportunities, museums and cultural performances that enrich classroom learning, team-building activities that strengthen our school community, and fun outings that give students time to relax, celebrate, and enjoy the early college experience.
Every Field Experience is intentionally designed to inspire curiosity, build connections, and help students grow academically, socially, and personally.

Overnight Experiences
Each year, students participate in an overnight Field Experience designed to deepen learning, strengthen relationships, and create unforgettable memories. These experiences become milestones in the Cabarrus Tech journey, combining academic exploration, personal growth, and fun.
- 9th Grade – Sound to Sea Environmental Education Program: Students travel to Pine Knoll Shores to explore North Carolina's coastal ecosystems through hands-on environmental studies, discovering the unique habitats and wildlife found on our barrier islands.
- 10th Grade – Asheville Experience: Students visit UNC Asheville and Western Carolina University while also exploring the history, architecture, and beauty of the iconic Biltmore Estate.
- 11th Grade – College Tour Experience: Over two days, students visit four North Carolina universities—UNC-Chapel Hill, NC State University, UNC Wilmington, and East Carolina University—helping them envision their future and explore a variety of college environments.
- 12th Grade – Senior Retreat: Before graduation, seniors spend time together at Camp Thunderbird, where high ropes adventures, team-building activities, and shared experiences celebrate four incredible years and the friendships they've built along the way.
These overnight experiences are more than trips—they are opportunities to discover new places, challenge yourself, strengthen friendships, and create memories that will last long after graduation.
Academic Competitive Teams
Our Academic Competitive Teams allow students to apply what they've learned while developing leadership, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills. Whether you're programming a robot, securing a computer network, debating world issues, or competing in an eSports arena, students have opportunities to challenge themselves, showcase their talents, and experience the excitement of competition beyond the classroom.
-
eSports – Compete in organized interscholastic gaming while building strategic thinking, communication, teamwork, and sportsmanship. -
Model United Nations – Research global issues, develop diplomatic solutions, and participate in conferences where students represent countries and debate international challenges. -
CyberPatriots – Defend computer systems and solve real-world cybersecurity challenges in the nation's premier youth cyber defense competition. -
VEX Robotics – Design, build, and program robots while working as a team to solve engineering challenges and compete against schools from across the region.
