College Transfer Pathway

 

Associate in Arts (AA) – This degree emphasizes liberal arts and is intended for students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university. This degree program offers courses comparable to the freshman and sophomore levels at four-year colleges and universities.

The Associate in Arts in Teacher Preparation (AATP)  – This degree is a specialized transfer degree for students interested in pursuing teacher licensure for elementary, middle, high school, or special education. The AATP degree is designed for students who desire to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Education in a non-STEM field.

The Associate in Arts & in Associate in Arts in Teacher Preparation Sequences

Associate in Science (AS) – This degree is awarded for study in science and mathematics and is intended for students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university. This program is recommended for students planning to pursue programs of study in agriculture, dentistry, engineering, forestry, furniture, mathematics, medicine, science, textiles or other areas leading to a bachelor of science degree. This degree program offers courses comparable to the freshman and sophomore levels at four-year colleges and universities.

The Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation (ASTP) – This degree is a specialized transfer degree for students interested in pursuing teacher licensure for elementary, middle, high school, or special education. The AATP degree is designed for students who desire to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Education STEM field.
