College Transfer Pathway

Two students engage in activities related to careers after college, one at a computer and another using a microscope.

The Career after College Pathway is for students who plan to transfer a 4-year college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree.  In addition to their high school diploma, students on this pathway will earn an Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Arts in Teacher Preparation (AATP), an Associate in Science (AS) degree, or Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation (ASTP) degree.

General Course Information

  • All High School Core Courses are taught at the Honors level.
  • College Classes are designated by 3 letters & 3 numbers.
  • College Courses must receive a C or better to transfer to a 4-year institution.
  • The following college courses satisfy high school graduation course requirements.
  • Students on the AATP/ASTP pathways will follow the general AA/AS pathways.

College Transfer Pre-Majors

Pre-Majors are designed to help students get a start on courses they will need for their bachelor’s degree.  They also help students unsure of a future major by allowing them to take a sample of courses from a specific major.  Included are the pre-majors that are available to our students here at Cabarrus Tech.  The courses listed in each pre-major are a representation of eligible courses taken from multiple NC universities.  As students move closer to graduation and have a clearer picture of the school they wish to attend, these plans can be modified to fit a specific school.  While these pre-majors represent our more common student choices, pre-majors can be developed even if they are not listed here.
